  • Bought a car. I don’t think I told everyone that. It’s a Volvo S80. It’s very nice.
  • Finally got a house to rent. Decent neighborhood. Older and smaller, but has had a lot of work done. Needs a bit more though.
  • So, because of that, we’re moving, and that’s been difficult.
  • All last week, we’ve been moving whatever will fit in the car: books, DVDs, CDs, kitchen stuff, old computers, files, boxes of random crap you accumulate in life: that sort of thing.
  • On Thanksgiving we went to her family’s house, then showed them the car and the house.
  • Friday after Thanksgiving, we did some early Black Friday shopping. We bought a bunch of DVDs, a 500 GB external hard drive for movies and such, a used Xbox from Gamestop for $60 (that will form the basis of the media center I’m working on) and Guitar Hero III with two controllers.
  • Friday, Saturday and part of Sunday were mostly packing and moving, packing and moving.
  • Sunday was kind of a scare. Kelly was getting really sharp pregnancy pains. She called the doctor and her doctor asked her to come in as a precaution. We were there for a few hours, but she was fine. She just needed to rest and drink more water.
  • Speaking of the baby, Sophie is still fine. She is still an ornery kid (she refused to cooperate with the belt sensors).
  • Today, we had to go to the doctor for me so that I could get a flu shot, and just do a regular checkup. Had to get some blood work done too, so my arm hurts now. Bleh.
  • Bonus: I just tripped and hurt my knee. Yay!
  • Also took the day off today to take care of the wife. I’m going to move some more this afternoon (because we had to stop early yesterday due to the hospital visit).
  • Tomorrow the furniture movers are coming, so we’re rapidly trying to get enough packed and out of the way to allow them to do their thing.
  • DirecTV service will be transferred Wednesday. Verizon FiOS will be installed that day too. Tomorrow night looks to be DVD or board game night, I guess.
  • Work is a whole extra case of crazy on top of this. I’ve got several deadlines that I’m swamped with. We’ve got one guy who’ll help us on a contract basis with some things, but we’re still dying to get a good PHP guy.
  • I think that’s it. Slowly going insane! Looking at my calendar for when the next break will be. I’ve got a break penciled in somewhere around 2032.
